SEATTLE, Wash. — Chicago let a double-digit lead shrink to three early in the fourth quarter Monday night, then answered with two touchdown drives to beat the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 34-17 at Lumen Field.

The win was the third straight for the Bears, who improved to 6-2. Seattle dropped to 4-4.

D’Andre Swift did most of the late work, carrying 27 times for 69 yards and three touchdowns. His 5-yard run with 8:28 left restored a 10-point cushion after Kalif Raymond turned a short throw into a 39-yard gain, and he scored again from 5 yards out with 4:41 to go.

Caleb Williams went 24 of 34 for 247 yards and a touchdown without an interception. He found Luther Burden III from a yard out to finish a 17-play, 80-yard opening drive, and Rome Odunze led Chicago with 87 receiving yards.

Seattle got within 20-17 when Sam Darnold hit Cooper Kupp for a 7-yard score and added a two-point pass, a sequence set up when DeMarcus Lawrence forced and recovered a fumble at the Chicago 25. Darnold also threw a 43-yard touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba late in the first half. Smith-Njigba caught six balls for 118 yards, his seventh 100-yard game in eight weeks, and his 985 receiving yards lead the NFL by 259. He also moved past Joey Galloway into eighth on the franchise career receiving list.

Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons had a sack and seven tackles in his first game with Chicago. Austin Booker blocked a field goal try and later tipped a pass that James Lynch picked off to set up the final touchdown. Chicago’s 34 points were the most Seattle has given up this season.
