The Knights triumphed by a significant margin, finishing 12 strokes ahead of the second-place team, East Carolina, at the Brook Valley Country Club, which is located over 800 miles from the UCF campus.

UCF entered the final round with an impressive lead of eight strokes. The Knights displayed exceptional composure, concluding the tournament with their best performance in the third round at four over par. This recent victory marks a significant milestone for the team, being their first tournament win since the Hartford Hawks Invitational in September 2022.

Throughout the three-round competition, the Knights showcased their skill by recording a total of 45 birdies, surpassing the second-best teams, Columbia and East Carolina, both of which had 36 birdies each. UCF particularly excelled on par 4 holes, where they finished at +14, compared to East Carolina’s +38 score in the same category, further cementing their dominance in the tournament.

Individual Achievements

Individually, Clemente Silva stood out, finishing tied for fifth on the leaderboard with a total score of 217 (+1). Silva’s final round included a score of 71 (-1), in which he made three birdies and climbed six spots from his position after the second round. His performance earned him a place on the all-tournament team.

Gustav Andersson and Chase Haygood both finished tied for 13th place with a total score of 220 (+4). Andersson recorded a final round score of 72, while Haygood’s scores included a 69 in the first round, 75 in the second, and 76 in the third round, concluding the tournament with a total of 11 birdies, tying for the second most in the field.

Last year’s individual champion, Hans Risvaer, concluded the tournament in 16th place with a score of 221 (+5), compiling rounds of 70, 73, and 78. Lucas Dutartre rounded out the UCF lineup in 19th place with a score of 222 (+6), achieving his best round at one over par (73). Competing as an individual, Jakob Stavang Stubhaug tied for 16th, tallied a score of 221 (+5), with consistent rounds of 74, 73, and 74.

Future Competitions

All UCF golfers who participated in the ECU Intercollegiate finished within the top 20, reflecting the depth of talent on the team. The UCF golf team will next compete at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, which will be held at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Alabama, on March 23 and March 24.
