Attention, Hatteras Residents: A Temporary Library Closure on the Horizon!
Hey there, wonderful folks of Hatteras! We’ve got some news for you that you’ll want to mark on your calendars. The Hatteras Library, that cozy spot where you can curl up with a good book or find a quiet corner to study, will be taking a brief break from welcoming visitors. This closure is all due to some essential water repairs that need to be tackled.
When Will the Library Be Closed?
Circle your calendars for Friday, November 8, 2024, because the library will be closed for the entire day while the Dare County Water Department gets busy fixing things up. As much as it pains us to say it, the library won’t have any running water during this time, which means it’s best to stay at home and enjoy your favorite reads there.
What Should You Do in the Meantime?
If you’re in need of some literary adventures or digital resources during the closure, no worries! You can visit the Hatteras Library’s website to explore their wonderful array of digital offerings, which include e-books, audiobooks, and even online programs. But if you’re looking for something a bit more traditional, you can always swing by the nearby Kill Devil Hills Library or the Manteo Library branches—they’re happy to help you out!
When Will the Library Reopen?
The good news? The Hatteras Library will throw open its doors again bright and early at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024! So, if you happen to miss your visit that Friday, you’ll have a chance to swing by during the library’s regular Saturday hours, which will be from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It’ll be business as usual, and your favorite staff members will be there, ready to assist you with anything you need.
A Special Note of Thanks
The team over at the Dare County Library appreciates your patience and understanding as these necessary repairs are attended to. They know how much the library means to you, and they want everything to be just right for your next visit.
If You Have Any Questions
If you’re itching to know more about the closure or have any specific questions, feel free to give the Hatteras Library Branch Manager Michelle Lord a call at 252-986-2385 or shoot her an email at [email protected].
