Bedford, PA – Community Mourns the Loss of Scott Anderson Fletcher

Scott Anderson Fletcher, aged 62, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. A cherished member of his family and community, he is remembered for his deep love of family, sports enthusiasm, and commitment to those around him.

Born on October 6, 1962, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Scott was the son of the late William Fletcher Jr. and Doris J. (Mellott) Fletcher. He is survived by his brother Kurt Fletcher of Bedford and his sister Billie Haines, along with her spouse Andrew, and their children, Samuel and Margaret, who reside in Hollidaysburg. Firstly experiencing joy in his life through family, Scott married Jamie Sue (Bowser) on February 17, 1984, with whom he had two children: a daughter, Alexis Dawn, who tragically predeceased him on March 3, 2005, and a son, Brandon William Fletcher.

Scott’s legacy continues through his only grandchild, Draven Scott, who was born on May 1, 2004, a memorable event that Scott actively participated in by assisting with the delivery.

Career and Community Involvement

For over 17 years, Scott worked at Creative Pultrusions in Alum Bank, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to his profession. The Fletcher family resided in Bedford while their children completed their education. In 2004, they made a significant move to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where Scott embraced self-employment. Ultimately, they relocated to the Raleigh, North Carolina area to be closer to medical facilities and their son Brandon’s family.

Passions and Hobbies

Scott was well-known for his passion for sports, proudly supporting teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Penn State. His extensive knowledge of sports statistics made him a go-to person for sports insights among friends and family. Scott also found joy in outdoor activities, particularly lawn work, gardening, and caring for animals. Family gatherings in his free time were something he treasured immensely.

Health Challenges and Funeral Arrangements

For the past five years, Scott had faced declining health due to illness but remained surrounded by his loved ones. To honor his life, a funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with Pastor Beth Pyles officiating.
