Registration Now Open for 8th Annual Dare to Scare 5K & Sweet Treat Fun Run
Wanchese, North Carolina – Get ready to lace up your running shoes! Registration is now open for the annual Dare to Scare 5K & Sweet Treat Fun Run, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Event Details
The 5K race will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Coastal Studies Institute located at 850 N.C. 345. Participants will traverse a scenic 3.1-mile course through trails and local residential roads, eventually finishing at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center in Manteo at 950 Marshall C. Collins Drive.
For those looking for a fun, less competitive option, the Sweet Treat Fun Run will begin at 9 a.m. at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center.
Registration Options
Participants can also opt for a virtual 5K race, allowing them to complete the run at any time and location by Saturday, October 26, 2024. This flexibility is perfect for those unable to attend in person.
Encouragement is given for participants to dress up in their best Halloween costumes as there will be a prize for the most festive outfit.
Registration Fees
- $40 if registered by September 16, 2024
- $45 from September 16-24, 2024
- $50 if registering during packet pickup on October 25, 2024 or on race day
- $15 for virtual 5K without shirt / $40 for virtual 5K with shirt
- $15 for Fun Run without shirt / $40 for Fun Run with shirt
Supporting Local Initiatives
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center Toy Drive, which aims to spread holiday cheer to over 400 local youth in Dare County. This is a great opportunity to embrace the festive spirit while supporting a wonderful cause.
