McComb was known for her comprehensive dedication to her family and the numerous lives she touched throughout her lifetime.
Born on September 9, 1941, in Poughkeepsie, New York, McComb was the daughter of Raymond Hawley, Sr. and Eleanor Meddaugh Hawley, both of whom have predeceased her. She spent her formative years in Poughkeepsie and graduated from Arlington High School before embarking on a family-centered life.
Throughout her life, Priscilla was married to Dennis McComb, Sr. for an impressive 61 years, until his passing. After a rich life that included living in the Outer Banks, NC, and Rotunda West, FL, McComb moved to Mystic, CT, where she resided in an apartment at Masonicare, a retirement community.
Priscilla was primarily known as a dedicated homemaker, nurturing her family and serving as a loving mother. She maintained her strong spiritual presence through her involvement with St. Mary’s Church in Poughkeepsie, NY, and later, St. Francis of Assisi Church in Florida. Her legacy includes five children: Dennis C. (Judy) McComb, Jr. of Texarkana, AR; Virginia R. (John P.) McAliney of Keller, TX; Marjorie M. (Kevin P.) Muggleston of Waterford, CT; Mary J. (Edward) Donnell of Aurora, NE; and Colin P. (Jennifer) McComb of LaGrangeville, NY.
In addition to her children, Priscilla is survived by her siblings: Kathy Hobson of Rhinebeck, NY; Doris Hawley of Red Hook, NY; Barbara Hansen of Germantown, NY; Raymond Hawley, Jr. of Tampa, FL; Susan Miller of Rhinebeck, NY; and Marguerite Hawley of Red Hook, NY. She was beloved by a large family, including 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, although she is preceded in death by her grandson, David McComb, and a great-grandchild, Ender Shirley.
The community will have an opportunity to pay their respects during a visitation scheduled for September 11, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Wm. G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc. in Poughkeepsie, NY. Following this, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on September 12, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, with burial following at St. Peter’s Cemetery in the family plot.
